Julia Monnaeva Bond, 39, was born in Bartow, Florida, on April 24, 1984, and died suddenly on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Julia was the daughter of Marjorie Annette Bond and Robert Lee Bond. She grew up in Lakeland and attended schools in Highland City and Bartow before working in the hospitality industry, being promoted to management positions throughout her career.

Julia left behind the love of her life and her best friend, her daughter Eva Marie Woodruff, 8. Being Eva’s mother was the greatest joy of Julia’s life and she was proud of her daughter every day. She loved attending Eva’s school functions, singing gospel music with her, making videos with her to send to family, teaching her to cook and bake, swimming in the pool at her Aunt Amber and Uncle Matt’s house, and watching movie marathons - including their favorite “Moana.” Julia hopes Eva will grow up to be as adventurous and brave as Moana and to know that she always has the love, support, and encouragement of her family.

Julia’s family was important to her and she was close to her siblings Amber Bond and her fiancé Matt Morley of Lakeland; Jason Bond and his wife Danielle of Melbourne; Andrew Bond of West Palm Beach; and Savannah Bond of Belleville, Texas. Her Aunt Andrea “Andi” Adkins of Lakeland doted on her and uncles Johnny Johnson and Mike Johnson of Temple, Georgia, loved her. She was also close to her cousins Jacob Carter of Lakeland, his wife Miranda and their three children, and Dr. Stephanie Ferrer and her husband Max of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, along with her grandmother Ella B. Adkins and grandfather Andrew G. Adkins, both of whom helped to raise her, as did her Aunt Andi.

Services will be held at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home South at 1727 Bartow Road South on Friday, July 28, with visitation at 11 a.m. and the service at noon. Reverend Cory Somerlot will officiate.

If mourners wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that they be made to Talbot House Ministries, where Julia most recently worked and loved the staff and clients.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home.
