Emmitt Levi Carter, 82, of Groveland Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday December 4, 2023.

Emmitt was a born and raised Floridian and he was proud of it. He served two years in the United States Army and was a career truck driver. After he retired, he spent his days tending to his orange grove, chasing cows, and working on whatever projects he thought up. He never passed up an opportunity to spend time with his family and friends either. Everyone that knew him knew he was full of funny stories, had an incredible work ethic, and was so proud of his family. Emmitt is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Carter. His children, Scott Carter (Kim), Christie Higdon (Craig), Michelle Meadows (Jason). His sister, Wanda, and sister-in-law, Mary. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Courtney (Donnie), Austin (Tiffany), Hunter (Erica), Bailey, Casey, and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 8th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 118 W Myers Blvd. Mascotte FL 34753 where services will take place at 11 a.m. Emmitt will be laid to rest at Empire Church Cemetery.
