The friendship of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi with President Barack Obama avoided him and his delegation from scanning at Washington airport, sources said on Sunday.
According to sources, Pervez Elahi had requested the Obama administration not to make his scanning during his visit to the country, which the US accepted.
Sources said that the US administration had invited PML-Q’s Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and others for Breakfast of US president Obama which he accepted and wrote a letter to the administration requesting it not make his scanning during his visit, on which the US consulate assured him that he was the guest of Obama and scanning of neither him nor any member of his delegation would be made.
The delegation included Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Chaudhry Imtiaz Ranjah and Akram Masih Gill.
When PML-Q’s spokesman Kamil Ali Agha was contacted for comments, he said that Pervez Elahi had settled all these before the visit that if his scanning was carried out at the airport then he would come back.
He said that he had visited the US on its assurance in this regard but we strongly condemned the US new scanning policy.
