Report on presentation of dance item in the ceremony held on the eve of World Population Day (WPD) has been submitted to the prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and reports are there minister for population welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan is likely to be removed from her office in connection with this dance scandal.

A special ceremony was organized in the prime minister secretariat on the eve of WPD on July, 12. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was chief guest on the occasion while federal ministers including syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi and Maulana Atta ur Rehman were seated on front line. The organizers of the function had included dance item in the program.

All including prime minister were shocked when the professional dancers started a highly objectionable dance item in the name of Punjab culture dance. Maulana Atta ur Rehman left his seat and went outside while Hamid Saeed Kazmi was also forced to close his eyes. On the other side Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani kept on looking hither and thither under humiliation.

Prime Minister not only voiced his resentment over the incident but also ordered inquiry.

Sources informed that inquiry committee had presented its report to prime minister, The report said the prime minister was misguided in regard to dance item as he was told that only children will present a cultural dance. Military secretary to Prime Minister asked the organizers to cancel this dance when factual position was brought to his notice. But the management and stage secretary called a professional dancer who was attired in revealing raiment to perform. She and male members of her dance group performed in vulgar manner.

Sources told minister for population welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and secretary population welfare Nayyar Agha had been held responsible on this count in the report;

Sources revealed prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had decided to remove Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan form her office besides transferring federal secretary to establishment division. Announcement in this respect is likely to be made on return of prime minister to home from his visit to Egypt.
