Army chief wants early end to political deadlock

ISLAMABAD: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, Wednesday has stressed over warring politicians to resolve the current political impasse as soon as possible.

This is the second such statement from the Pakistan Army in less than 24 hours as political deadlock in Islamabad persists.

Reports said that Gen Sharif made remarks during a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif this evening.

Military and political leadership are in constant consultation in the wake of PTI and PAT march on the capital Islamabad.

Last evening, ISPR also came out with a similar nature of statement urging politicians to resolve the crisis.
