Islamabad: The National Assembly on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the unprovoked Indian army shelling on the Line of Control in which one Pakistan Army Captain Sarfraz was martyred and a soldier sustained injuries.
The resolution moved by Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Dr. Azra Fazal and Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, members of NA, expressed serious concerns over the continued violations of the ceasefire on the LoC by the Indian army and demanded for constructive and result-oriented peace process.
The House paid rich tributes to Captain Sarfraz and prayed for early recovery of the injured soldier.
The resolution said that the people of the country stand by the civil and military leadership to defend the territories of the country.
“This House pays rich tribute to Capt. Sarfaraz of the Pakistan armed forces who was martyred due to unprovoked shelling by the Indian troops at Shaqma sector near Sakardu on the Line of Control and also prays for early and complete recovery of the soldier, seriously injured on Tuesday, the 20th August 2013,” the resolution passed by the NA said.
“This House condemns this act of aggression and also expresses its serious concern on the continued violation of the ceasefire across the LoC by Indian army and demands for a constructive, sustained and result oriented process of engagement,” it added.
The resolution further said “The people of Pakistan fully stand behind their civil and military leadership to defend the territory of Pakistan.”
