ISLAMABAD: Identification of foreign tourists and a Pakistani guide‚ who were killed in a terrorist attack at Nanaga Perbat base camp on Sunday‚ has been completed.
A spokesman of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad said two of the slain tourists belong to Republic of Slovakia‚ three to Ukraine‚ two to China‚ and one each to Lithuania‚ Nepal and the United States. The guide of the tourists has also been identified.
The victims were identified as Anton Slovakia, Dmitri Ukraine, Kashaieve Badavi, Ukraine, Mr. Ernestas, Lithvania, Mr Yang Chun Heng, China, Mr, Jib Rao Jian Heng, China, Mr. Hong Lu chen, China origin USA, Mr. Sona Nepal , Mr. Peter sperka ,Slovakia, Mr. Igor Sviergun,Ukraine ,Mr.Ali Hussain Distt Ghanchay,Pakistan
Earlier‚ their postmortem was completed at the hospital last night.
The initial post-mortem report revealed that all the tourists were killed due bullet shots in head and neck.
According to a spokesman of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr Wasim, two tourists were killed after their hands were tied up while the others were killed by bullet shots in the head and neck.
According to sources, seven dead bodied were shifted to Poly Clinic Hospital after autopsy while the bodies of three Chinese tourists were kept at PIMS.
The spokesman said the dead bodies of the deceased tourists will be handed over to the concerned embassies in Islamabad as and when they contacted to receive the bodies.
Meanwhile, 37 suspects have been arrested from Gilgit Baltistan; officials shifted arrested men to undisclosed location for investigations regarding attack on foreign tourists.
Army teams‚ police teams along with other supporting agencies are continuing search operation in Babu Sar‚ Buner and Sarri Maiddo areas.
The DIG police Gilgit is heading the operation.
