QUETTA : Deployment of Army troops has begun in parts of Balochistan ahead of the May 11 general elections.
A contingent of 400 troops left here on Monday to take positions in Mastung, Khad Kocha and Dasht ahead of the upcoming polls.
The troops would remain stationed at sensitive areas from till May 15.
Talking to media , Secretary Interior Balochistan Akbar Hussain Durrani had said army would be deployed in all 30 districts and 92 tehsils of the province to cope up with any untoward situation.
He said a total of 70 thousand security personnel would be deployed, including 6000 from Army, 17000 from FC, 20,000 from Police, 17,000 from Levies, and 10,000 from Balochistan Constabulary.
