KARACHI: Pakistan Air Force – Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology (PAF-KIET) conferred a total of 550 graduates with their degrees in the disciplines of Management Science, Computer Science, Engineering and Media & Arts.
Degrees awarded by the College of Management Sciences, includes 110 in BBA and 218 in MBA, 8 in MS-MS, and 44 in PGD Islamic Finance. The College of Computing & Information Sciences awarded 27 degrees in BS, 4 in MCS, 5 in MTN and 21 in MBA-MIS, and 11 in MS-CS areas.
Seventy-eight degrees were awarded to BE Electronics students of College of Engineering. The remaining 24 degrees were awarded to the BCA, College of Media & Arts students.
Air Marshal (Retd) Azim Daudpota was the Chief Guest of the occasion who also awarded Gold and Silver Medals to the distinguished students. The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Syed Tariq Sohail, Chairman S.M. Sohail Trust.
Air Marshal (Retd) Azim Daudpota urged the students to embrace the values such as civic sense, tolerance, and acceptance for challenges in the life. He said that we can form a decent civil society only through the virtues of diligence, dedication and dutifulness.
Speaking on the occasion the President of the Institute Air Commodore (R) Muhammad Khalid Hussain praised the efforts of the students and faculty while emphasizing the role of education in the development of Pakistan.
Farheen BBA, Abdul Rehman BS, Saqlain Banatwala BE, Midah Najmi BCA, Abid Abbas MBA, Muhammad Waqas MBA-MIS, Anwarul Haque MTN, Syed Baber Ali MS-MS, Naheed Azeem MS-CS and Zuhair Ashfaq Ansari PGD were also awarded with Gold Medals.
Whereas Marium Niaz BBA, Aman Ullah Khan BS, Sameen Arif BE, Muna Aftab BCA, Muhammad Ahad Akmal MBA, Farah Khalil MBA-MIS, Muhammad Mughal MTN, Masood MS-MS, Adeel Ansari MS-CS and Abdul Basit Fareed PGD were awarded with Silver medals
