ISLAMABAD: Heavy fog disrupted road travel on Islamabad to Lahore Motorway, leading to the partial closure of its section from Thokhar Niaz Beg to Pindi Bhatian Interchange for traffic.
According to Motorway police, the Motorway had been closed from Peshawar to Islamabad interchange due to thick fog at Motorway M1. The visibility was down to zero due to mist.
A motorway spokesman said visibility was down to zero.
Commuters traveling to or from Lahore are facing massive trouble owing to thick fog on highways including Motorway.
On the other hand, fog started to hover over Peshawar-to-Islamabad motorway also since last evening. Authorities closed a section of motorway for heavy vehicles due to thick fog.
IG Motorway said travelers had been re-advised to take alternative path, attributing the decision to poor visibility that shrank to 15 meters on some places.
The Motorway high officials directed passengers to travel except under emergency with fog lights on.
