KARACHI: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Sunday rejected resignation of federal Information Minister, Firous Ashiq Awan and assured to redress to her grievances.

Speaking to media here, the Prime Minister said he has rejected Awan’s resignation and asked her to continue work.

Later talking to media, Firous Ashiq Awan said that the prime minister tear off her resignation and assured her concerns would be addressed.

She said some elements were interfering in affairs of the ministry for this reason she presented her resignation to the Prime Minster.

Awan said that unrelated persons were interfering in ministry matters and she could not take dictation from such elements.
She said that she would not allow anyone to use her powers.

She said that the PM held a one-on-one meeting with her after the cabinet meeting and directed to continue as a minister and PM has assured her to address her reservations.

Earlier Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan with tears in her eyes announced to resign from her ministerial post during cabinet meeting in Karachi on Sunday morning.
