ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) Wednesday sought reply from the President, the Prime Minister, the Chairman NAB, Provincial Governors and others regarding non-implementation of its verdict in NRO case.

An order issued by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said the court had nullified the National Reconciliation Order (NRO) on December, 16, 2009 and issued order for reopening all the cases pertaining to NRO.

The court rejected review petitions in this regard on December, 8, 2011 and upheld its December, 16, 2009 judgment. However this verdict had not been implemented so far, order said.

The court through this order has directed principal secretaries of President, Prime Minister, chairman NAB, provincial governors, law and interior secretaries, chiefs of provincial and federal police, Attorney General and Advocate General to inform SC as to why orders of court have not been implemented so far. Court has also directed them to file replies within two and a half week.

The court had said in its December, 16, 2009 verdict that all the cases which were closed due to promulgation of NRO be reopened. These cases also include Swiss Case.

The court has taken this action on a report from registrar office regarding implementation of SC decisions including NRO verdict.

The case would be heard in the first week of January.
