Welcome to new Pakistan: Imran Khan

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan while addressing to a huge rally at Minar-e-Pakistan said that his party has begun a movement of new Pakistan.

“Today we are beginning a movement of new Pakistan’ from Minar-e-Pakistan the historic place from where Founder of the Nation Quad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah began his movement” Imran said while addressing to a sea of people who turned up at the ‘Pakistan Bachao’ rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday.

The independent analysists were of the view that almost 350,000 to 400,000 people were present in the PTI public gathering. The young generation especially students of different educational institutions participated in the PTI’s Save Pakistan Rally in a large number, which were charged to bring political change in the country. The rally was well-organized and disciplined as no disruptive behaviour or rowdiness was seen during the entire rally.

Speaking to rally Khan said that he supported friendship with all the countries including the United States but would never bow before them.

“We would never carry out a single military operation in their support,” he maintained.

Khan, also former prominent cricketer and hence popular among majority youth population of the country, said that military operations in the tribal areas would never end terrorism.

The PTI government would quit the coalition and would transfer the responsibility of ousting the real terrorists on the shoulders of the tribal people, Imran Khan further said.

He said that drone attacks is pushing the tribal people towards militancy and PTI would immediately take step to stop it after it comes into power.

It is pertinent to mention that Khan is always vocal against the drone US attacks in FATA and prefer negotiation over operation against militants in the tribal areas.

He said, “We have inflicted atrocities on people in Balochistan and we would take them along. Today I beg apology from them.”

He questioned how could Asif Zardari provide bread, cloth and shelter when under his rule 16,000 people committed suicide.

Imran Khan said: “Asif Zardari wrote a letter to the US requesting please save me from the army.” The rally is a sign of revolution in Pakistan and the rulers cannot stop this revolution, he added.

Imran Khan said that the biggest problem facing Pakistan is corruption which the PTI will strive to eradicate and install honest officers in key positions.

He further said that his party would resolve the issues of Pakistan including the electricity crisis and make it mandatory for politicians to declare their assets.

Khan also said Pakistan is a rich country full of minerals but the corruption and bad governance turned it into a beggar state. He said that the rulers have sold their nation for dollars.

Criticising the government Khan said that there is no comparison between Zufiqar Ali Bhutto and Asif Zardari.

“The PTI will not allow the military to attack its people, PTI believes in talks with the tribals,” said Imran Khan.
