LAHORE: The Unification Block has advised Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to dissolve Provincial Assembly in order to block Senate elections, as proposed by PPPP.

Talking to a private TV channel, the parliamentary leader of the Unification block, Dr. Tahir Ali Javed has said that Punjab Assembly was the largest Provincial assembly of Nation, having 48 Unification Block members.

He said that if the Provincial government dissolved the Provincial Assembly prior to Senate elections, the Unification Block would fully support the move.

“PML-N would have to take aggressive steps, in order to block PPPP’s inroads into senate, prior to Senate elections; and dissolving the Provincial Assembly was the only such solution,” he maintained, adding that such as step would help block PPPP’s majority in Senate elections.

“This would be an incomplete electoral collage, forcing new elections”, he said.

However sources at PML-N have categorically rejected mulling or deciding any such move, citing party’s prudent and responsible attitude.
