Opposition flexes its muscles under nose of Presidency

ISLAMABAD: Keeping aside the reconciliation policy, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday has flexed its muscle by openly showing its power in the Federal Capital.
The PML-N led an opposition rally and sit-in outside President House, describing President Asif Ali Zardari as ‘mother of all the problems’ faced by Pakistan.
PML-N’s Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan led the joint opposition rally attended by lawmakers of Jamat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), PML (LM), PML-Q, PPP Sherpao group and score of independent candidates.
Senators and MNAs from FATA also joined the protest march.
They walked out from session of the lower house and marched towards the Presidency.
Carrying play cards and banners, the parliamentarians chanted anti-government and “Go Zardari GO” slogans and demanded end to load-shedding, inflation, worst law and other situation in the county, especially in Balochistan, and other public issues.
The lawmaker hit out at the ruling clique for its failure to plug up the crisis.
Addressing the gathering and talking to media, annoyed opposition leader Ch. Nisar Ali Khan described alliance of MQM and Q-League with People’s Party as coalition of “Rule-seekers” who do not care of the people but do every wrong thing to get the regime.
He said Presidency has been occupied by a “menace” and they would do every thing to drive out this “disaster”.
Ch. Nisar said law and order situation in Balochistan became the worst where people were being killed and abducted from their homes but government was unmoved over the alarming situation on the province.
He said power Loadshedding has increased miseries of a common man and destroyed the business and industry of the country which resulted in employment crisis in the country.
Opposition leader also said national institutions like PIA, Railways and Steel Mills reached to the edge of destruction but the government is engaged in making black money.
Leader of Like Minded group Salim Saifullah on occasion said that life of common man became miserable in the country but rulers enjoying foreign trips and lavish life style.
He said government should resign and conduct elections in the country.
PPP-Sherpao chief Aftab Ahmed Sherpao said whole country suffering with load shedding, inflation and corruption.
He said next election would prove white wash for this corrupt government.
JUI leader Maulana Abdul Maalik said the government failed to provide security, electricity, food and shelter to people.
He said security and financial situation of the country became worst.
Maalik said neighboring countries offered electricity supply but the government refused that increased miseries of the people.
People’s Party member of national assembly Hamid Shah said even son of Prime Minister Gilani is involved in corruption which reflects this curse has penetrated at the highest level in the government.
He said Balochistan was burning as encompassed bodies have bee recovering on daily basis and Baloch people were being murdered by target killing.
He demanded of the government to step down and Governor Rule be constituted in the province.
Earlier in the NA session, MNAs from treasury and opposition benches exchanged harsh words, prompting the Deputy Speaker, Faisal Kareem Kundi to intervene.
Heavy police contingents have been deployed near the President House.
Blocking all the roads leading to the Presidency, police have placed barbed wires on all entry and exit points. However, the PLM-N is determined and announced to carry on its anti-government campaign.




It would be nice if these political parties instead of only concentrating on political points, would gather on a single platform to counter every challenge facing the country, including terrorism.
