ISLAMABAD: The tragic bus incident in which 37 people, majority of them school children, occurred due to break failure not over speeding, according to initial report presented by the Motorway police on Thursday.
According to media reports, an Investigation Committee was formed under DIG Motorways Doctor Shafiq to probe the Kalar Kahar tragic incident.
Spokesman to Motorway Javed Chaudhry rejecting the reports of DPO Chakwal and district Administration said that the bus was not over speeding because the bus covered the distance of 12-kilometer in 35 to 40 minutes and the real cause of the accident was due to break failure.
He said that the statements of the injured students have been recorded and they have also stated that the driver of the bus prior to the accident had started shouting that the breaks have failed.
Meanwhile, foreign experts have also visited the site and have also cited break failure as the cause of the accident.
The report would be presented before IG Motorways and strict action would be taken against those who are found to be involved in negligence of duty.
