Pak Army Chief gives US a shutup call

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, termed the recent statements made by Admiral Mullen and White House, very unfortunate and said that no mud-slinging campaign will be tolerated on national security organization.
According to a media hand issued by Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), the COAS stated that this was especially disturbing in view of a rather constructive meeting with Admiral Mullen in Spain. On the specific question of contacts with Haqqanis, the Kayani said that Admiral Mullen knows fully well which all countries are in contact with the Haqqanis.
“Singling out Pakistan is neither fair nor productive” Army Chief made it clear.
Categorically denying the accusations of proxy war and ISI support to Haqqanis, the COAS wished that, the blame game in public statements should give way to a constructive and meaningful engagement for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan, an objective to which Pakistan is fully committed.
According to military sources the COAS after returning back to Karachi made consultation with senior military officials regarding recent allegations made the Americans. Meanwhile, Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha briefed took Kayani into the confidence regarding his fresh negotiations while the duo discussed the post scenario of Pak-US military relationships after the statement of Admiral Mike Mullen. Sources informed that the due military officials were told that the U.S. had not carried out any intelligence sharing with Pakistan regarding Haqqni network.
