Dengue threat, Punjab Govt. changes school uniforms, timetable

Lahore: Taking further steps to control dengue epidemic, Punjab government Thursday changed student’s uniform and schools timetable.

Provincial education minister, Shuja Rehman banned shorts and half-sleeve shirts as school uniform while educational institutes were ordered to be opened at 0900 hours and to be closed at 1500 hours.

The provincial government also prohibited sports in all schools and colleges in evening.

Similarly, private schools, which would not arrange insecticides spray in their campuses, would be fined.

Meanwhile three more victims of dengue mosquito were died in Mayo Hospital here on Thursday. Over eight thousand people have been affected by dengue virus so far that erupted across the province.
