Punjab Govt to distribute Rs.1.12 billion among teachers

LAHORE: The Punjab government will distribute a sum of Rs. 1.12 billion as incentive among the teachers of schools and colleges showing exemplary performance in teaching.
According to press release issued here on Friday, this was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Muhammad Anwar while addressing the district coordination meeting of partner school Principals and teachers of Bahawalpur and Lodhran districts at Bahawalpur Board Auditorium on Friday. Addressing the meeting, Raja Anwar said that phase-7 of PEF extension has been launched to accommodate the growing number of deserving students.
This will especially benefit the students of Southern Punjab, he maintained. Raja Anwar told the audience that a plan has been envisaged to give computer education to more than one million students studying in about 2500 partner schools so that digital divide could be bridged. “All the PEF partner schools are being inter-connected through online networking to ensure better coordination with them.”
He maintained that PEF has given special attention to girls’ education so that girls from poor families couldn’t be deprived of education for want of resources. More than five lakh deserving girls are getting free education in PEF partner schools, he told.
Earlier, PEF partner school Principals and teachers presented their point of view for better coordination between PEF and the schools.
