MQM and PPP are on the same page: Altaf assures Zardari

LONDON/ISLAMABAD:Altaf Hussain held out assurance to President Zardari that MQM will not part ways with PPP for stability of democratic order in the country and his party would continue cooperation with ruling party on important national issues.

Altaf Hussain said this while during a telephonic call to President Asif Ali Zardari to inquired about his health.

As per Farhat Ullah Babar, Presidency spokesman, President thanked Altaf Hussain for inquiring about his health.

Both the leaders exchanged views on further strengthening and improving the relations between PPP and MQM.

Matters related to rejoining the government by MQM were also discussed in the telephonic contact.

Altaf Hussain conveyed his concern to President Zardari through this telephonic contact over attitude of certain leaders of PPP. However both of them agreed upon continuing consultation and dialogue process.

President Zardari told country was passing through critical phase of its history and no single party could steer it from the crisis all alone. Sindh was inundated in floods and Punjab was facing dengue virus. The need was there that the political parties should get united and move forward together, he stressed.
