I am patriotic, says Rehman

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday again made it clear that he is a patriotic citizen urging negative and false propaganda against him is totally baseless stressing Al Qaeda leader Younis al-Mauritani is under Pakistan’s sheer custody.

While talking to host of journalists in Federal Capital, Interior Minister said that he respects courts, parliament and Standing Committees adding he is willing to present himself to any committee as his collar is clean.

I also respect Zulfikhar Mirza and has no personal grudge with him, he argued.

While giving details of the Karachi operation, Malik went on to say that out of 450 killed in Karachi bloodshed, 42 target killers have been arrested besides huge cache of weapons seized from the miscreants.

Undoubtedly Afghan Refugees present in Pakistan are becoming suicide bombers, he underlined.

He said 42 target killers have been arrested during the surgical operations carried out by the law enforcement agencies in the city.

SC’s suo moto notice of the Karachi situation was a good thing, he said. On my orders, Rehman said that no target killers have been released.

In response to a question, Rehman again made it clear that he has already pointed of presence of Taliban in Balochistan.

He further said that arrest of Al Qaeda leader Younis al-Mauritani was a proof that Pakistan was taking strict action against terrorism urging US has demanded Pakistan to hand over him but he is still in our custody. (Agencies)
