ISLAMABAD: People have started to return to the Capital city of Islamabad after Eid-ul-Fitr, however, business activities are still at lower ebb.
Comparatively low number of People and vehicles on the silent roads and in the markets were witnessed on Saturday but majority of the shops, small hotels and shopping center remained closed.
“People are returning as number of families in markets like Jinnah Super and other public places as well as vehicles on roads are increasing with each passing day after the eid. On Thursday and Friday a complete silent was visible in the capital,” said a policeman who was on special duty during Eid in Islamabad.
But the number of the dwellers of Islamabad, majority of whom had gone to their hometowns for eid, is still very low probably because of the consecutive holidays and business people are not motivated to return earlier.
“Majority of the shop keepers think that their sale would be near to null due to lower population in the city and now I think that it was my mistake to attend the shop today,” said a shopkeeper in Super Market.
Rush on roads and in parks is absent the capital city witness silence and calm even at the fourth day of the eid, said Sajjad, a resident in G-8 who remained in Islamabad during the eid.
Majority of his neighbors have not returned till now after eid, however, some dwellers have started to appear in his street, he said.
