Govt employees working part-time in private media, ordered to quit their jobs

PESHAWAR: Following directives of federal government, the Provincial government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK) has issued notices to employees working part-time in media, to quit their jobs.

In the initial phase, government officials from media services would be notified to quit their extra jobs in private media concerns, followed by second phase in which officials employed in other departments would also be notified to quit their part-time employment with private media concerns.

The Establishment Division had ordered government officials to maintain distance from private media concerns on 13th July, and KPK government has received its share of the directives.

Sources have informed that details of all governmental employees working part-time in private institutions had been sought, while governmental employees employed as part-time in media concerns have been warned of departmental action , if they failed to vacate their private media jobs, forthwith.
