19 brigadiers promoted as major generals

RAWALPINDI: The Promotion board of Pakistan army on Wednesday promoted 19 brigadiers to the rank of major generals.

According to ISPR, The board met under the chairmanship of chief of the army staff Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The board after reviewing the capabilities of 35 brigadiers finally gave approval of the promotion of 19 brigadiers to the rank of major generals.

Those who got promoted include Brig Tariq Masood, Brig Ahmed Mehmood, Brig Khan Tahir Javed Khan, Brig Nazir Butt, Brig Mazhar Salim, Brig Mohammed Jafar, Brig Najmul Hassn, Brig Ghulam Qamar, Brig Ali Abbas, Brig Amir Riaz, Brig Abid Rafique, Brig Asif Khatak, Brig Jameel Rehmat, Brig Salim Raza, Brig Malik Abbas, Brig Syed Badshah, Brig Shahab Naqvi, and Brig M Junaid.
