KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines plane PK-747 has landed safely at Karachi Airport.

The aircraft was scheduled from Sialkot to Jeddah but was diverted to Karachi Airport after its landing gear did not lock properly.

According to initial reports the ground crew did not remove the Aircraft Landing Gear Pin that cause the problem.

There is a slot in the hinge mechanism through which the pin is inserted. The landing gear pin is a red color pin and should must be removed from the aircraft before the plane takes off. The purpose to insert this pin on ground is to prevent the gear from retracting while the plane is on the ground.
