Ramadan moon sighted in Pakistan, first fast on 2nd August

ISLAMABAD: The moon of holy month of Ramadan has been sighted in Pakistan and the people are going to observe their first fast tomorrow on 2nd August, 2011.

According to media TV channels the moon has been sighted in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi and others parts of the country.

The central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, has also announced the sighting of Ramadan Moon.

In a press conference he said that the committee received evidences of Ramadan’s moon sighting from various parts of the country and the first day of the holy month will fall on August 2.

He said that when there is a moon its visible to everyone.
