MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) nominee Sardar Yaqub Khan has been elected President Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) by securing 40 votes today.

PPP had nominated former Sardar Yaqub Khan instead of Chaudhry Latif Akbar while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominated Khan Bahadur Khan who bagged 11 votes.

The new AJK President will take oath on August 25th.
