LEAD Pakistan, three-day action lab concluded

ISLAMABAD: A three-Day Action Lab titled “Inspiring Leadership for Sustainable Development” has been successfully concluded under the auspices of Leadership for Environment & Development (LEAD) Pakistan.

Around six hundred prominent personalities, twenty five inspiring speakers, and sixteen moderators from intelligentsia, Economists, Environmentalists, UN representatives, high officials and experts form Education, Health, Commerce, Finance, Social Sector and Non Governmental Organizations from all over the country and abroad had participating in different segments of three-day Action Lab and discussed eighteen different topics on three consecutive days.

The event was called action lab for its unique structure that included interactions with key panelists and subject matter experts, creating a policy think tank, donor marketing, strategic thinking exercises and studying the design of LEAD’s interventions on Sustainable Development.

The purpose of Action Lab was to provide spaces for people to learn, adopt and explore issues of sustainability by harnessing knowledge & resources and committing to design and deliver high impact actions.

Policy Dialogue on Climate Compatible Development, Roundtable on MDGs and Health, Panel on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Media discussion Forum, Policy, Governance, Devolution & 18th Amendment are the few topics that will be addressed during the event.

CEO LEAD Pakistan & Regional Director Asia, Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) Ali Tauqeer Sheikh in his concluded remarks said that the objective of Action Lab was to provide an opportunity to leverage and build a community around Leadership with a threefold link to Climate Compatible Development, MDGs & Health, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

He said that It will serve as a platform for interaction with different stakeholders whereby creating a policy think tank, donor marketing and adding value to strategic thinking.

He also said that conference like this provoked thinking on solving complex global problems holistically and promote a culture of increased commitment, creativity, experimentation and collaboration.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad Senior Advisor, Planning Commission of Pakistan, Dr. Malik, Kausar Abdullah Member, Board of Governors, LEAD Pakistan and people from all walks of life.
