621 employees sacked in 1998 have been reinstated

KARACHI: Sindh law minister Ayyaz Soomro had said 621 employees who were sacked during Nawaz Sharif regime had been reinstated.

He said this while addressing a press conference here in Sindh secretariat Wednesday. He told employees who were sacked on political basis in 1998 would be reinstated.

He stated that chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had issued notification in this respect and 1848 applications were received from 24 departments. 621 employees had been reinstated after scrutinizing their cases, he added.

The arrears on account of salaries would be paid to the reinstated employees in different instalments, he said adding cases of employees who were promoted during this period would also be decided.

To a question about restoration of local bodies system law minister said he had no knowledge about it.

About delay in disbursement of salary to government employees he said a substantial amount from this head was spent during last year devastating flood. However no labourer would be rendered jobless during PPP regime, he underlined.
