Govt to provide Rs 2.2 billion in Ramadan Package

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to ease the miseries of masses, the government has decided to provide Rs 2.2 billion in the head of subsidy on Ramadan Package.

According to sources in the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) the government will provide subsidy over twelve things in the head of Ramadan Package; however, the consultation is underway in the head of subsidized items. Sources said that the expected subsidized items will be floor, sugar, ghee, pulses, drinks, tea powder, besin, cooking oil, dates, spices and other commodities.

These items on the subsidized rate would be available on 5, 700 franchises of the Utility Stores Corporation. It is vital to mention here that these items are also sale out at USC chains at subsidized rate.

Masood Alam Niazi – the spokesperson of the UTSC further stated that the government took the decision to facilitate the masses through subsidized things, as the usage of these things has been increased during the Ramadan.
