Majority called Karachi Rangers a team full with losers

KARACHI: “Ranger is a person whose responsibility is to manage and protect the area but after the case of an unarmed teenager that has been shot dead in Karachi it is better to call Karachi rangers a team full with losers who are only good at killing innocent people but they simply fail when It comes to kill or capture target killers in the city” commented Akmal Hussain on the incident of teenager Sarfraz who has been shot dead from point-blank distance by a team of Rangers on suspicion of dacoity.
People on social media sites and blogs are full with hot air, speaking a lot of angry words against the Ranger personnel who have been seen killing an unarmed guy at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park within the limits of Boat Basin Karachi.
It all started on Wednesday evening when news appeared that Rangers has killed a 25-year-old Sarfraz Shah who was caught red handed while snatching cash and valuables from visitors at Benazir Shaheed Park.
After the incident a spokesman for the Sindh Rangers said a man approached the Rangers personnel deputed outside Benazir Shaheed Park with a complaint against a young bandit inside the park,” said the spokesman for the Sindh Rangers. “The Rangers officials went inside the park and spotted the youngster who fired at them. The return fire from the Rangers killed the bandit.”
Right after the incident, family members of Sarfraz, demonstrated outside the Chief Minister’s House along with the dead body of Sarfaraz. They called the incident a drama, created by the Rangers and asked authorities to lodged FIR against the responsibles.
But the story took a twist when after few hours of the incident, the video of the incident was aired by news TV channels which showed Rangers personnel gathered around the youngster Sarfraz, who despite pleading for mercy, had been shot from a close range by one of the six Rangers personnel.
This brutal killing has been condemned widely and people start blaming Rangers who are good at firing at innocents but failed to protect Karachi from target killers.
“I am mad enough to chew nails. The Ranger guy who shot this teenager must be sentenced to death” said Saima Ali.
Ali Kazmi, another user said “Where did there heavily armed guns go when shooters roam around the city and kill whoever they want?”
On the other hand Both the Rangers and the police said Thursday that they will investigate the incident.

indeed a sad incident! we should give proper training to these rangers and i might i add that america should train these rangers as he force is in shambles.
Great idea Wasim, let’s get America to train these rangers for us and also wipe our noses when we have a cold. This is a reflection of our society and the Pakistani people must address these problems themselves, instead of relying on the world to always determine their fate. The rangers are very well trained personnel. It is the the national character of vindictiveness inside us all, which causes us to reach conclusions without straightening the facts. The only way to determine what is right and what is wrong is to ask ourselves how Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) would have ordered us to deal with a situation where someone has been arrested based on initial suspicion, but no proof. This is against the tenets of Islam, inspite of what the young man may have done, we do not have the right to be the judge, jury and executioner for a ‘case’ which was ‘solved’ in under 60 seconds. Very sad day for Pakistan.
