PAF fully capable to thwart any threat: Air Chief

ISLAMABAD :Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman on Thursday underlined that Pakistan is a peace loving nation and our mission is to maintain peace with honor in the region.

He expressed these views in graduation Ceremony of GD (P), Engineering, Air Defence and Administration & Special Duties Courses, and the Commissioning Ceremony of GD (P) and Engineering courses was held at Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur.

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The Chief Guest reviewed the parade and presented Quaid-e-Azam Banner to No 4 Squadron, the new Champion Squadron. This was followed by award of Flying Badges and Branch Insignias to graduating officers and aviation cadets.

While speaking at the occasion, the Chief Guest said, “By the grace of Allah, Pakistan Air Force has inducted state-of-the-art weapon systems and its modernization drive is on track. We do not wish to accumulate weapons per se.

“Our endeavor is to develop capabilities that are
required to deter and defeat all internal and external threats and face all challenges that the nation confronts today and in the fore seeable future. Please keep in mind that weapons are necessary tools to wage war, but it is the unwavering courage, strong motivation and the highest standards of training of the human resource that achieves
success or results in failure in any conflict”, he said.

He further added that, “Pakistan is a peace loving nation and our mission is to maintain peace with honor in the region. Today we live in uncertain times when the nation faces many internal as well as external threats. We are fully aware of the prevailing situation and are ready to meet all challenges that our country faces.

“Our successful operations against criminals and militants have undoubtedly proved that the military in Pakistan has the capability and the will to full fill its obligations”, he stressed.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Trophy for Best Performance in General Service Training in College of Flying Training was awarded to Pilot Officer Rana Ehsan Ishfaq, while Pilot Officer Kamran Zia lifted Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Trophy for Best Performance in General Service Training in College of Aeronautical Engineering.
Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for Best Performance in Flying was awarded to Pilot Officer Talha Sarwar while Pilot Officer M Adnan Khan lifted Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for Best Performance in Engineering Discipline.

The coveted Sword of Honour for Best All Round Performance in College of Flying Training was awarded to Pilot Officer M Zeeshan While Pilot Officer M Adnan Khan won Sword of Honour for
Best All Round Performance in College of Aeronautical Engineering.

Trophy for Over All Best Performance in the Air Defence Course was awarded to Aviation Cadet M Fahad, while Trophy for Best Performance in the Admin & Special Duties Course was won by Aviation Cadet Sgt M
Eitazaz.

Significant event of the ceremony was colorful air display by “Sherdils’ Formation” of K-8 aircraft.

Parents and relatives of graduating officers and cadets, senior civil and military officials were also present on the occasion.
