KARACHI: Veteran television, stage and film artist Moin Akhtar on Saturday laid to rest in model colony graveyard, amid heart wrenching echoes of mournful cries and tears in everyone’s eye who attended the funeral.

The Funeral prayer of a great comedian and actor Moin Akhtar was offered after Zohar prayers in Toheed mosque of Malir Cantt.

The funeral prayer was led by Junaid Jamshed. Various actors, Politicians, social workers among a large number of people attended the funeral prayer of Moin Akhtar, best known to audiences in the subcontinent for his role in various comedy Plays.

A versatile performer from Karachi, Akhtar made his TV debut Sep 6, 1966 in a show on state-run Pakistan TV (PTV) on the first defence day of Pakistan. Since then, he had performed numerous roles in TV shows.

Akhtar was one of the most sought after actors in the Pakistani entertainment industry. He was fluent in several languages, including English, Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Pushto, Gujarati and others. He also had a huge fan in India.
