ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has withheld the approval to summary for two weekly holidays and advancing the clock by one hour.
Official sources told ministry of water and power had sent a summary to PM at the start of the current month whereby it was recommended that two holidays in a week, advancing clocks by one hour from April 15 , closure of markets from 8 pm and use of AC in government offices after 11 a.m be approved in the wake of energy crisis
It was further said in the summary that all the recommendations made in the last year for conservation of electricity be approved.
Provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa voiced protest that they were not taken into confidence with reference to two weekly holidays and advancing of clocks by one week.
PM has withheld the process of signing the summary sent by ministry for water and power.
Sources told Online that government had decided to convene National Energy Conference by the end of this month or start of next month and all the four chief ministers would be taken into confidence in this respect. If no consensus decision is reached then the matter will be referred to Council of Common Interest.
