ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: The commuters as well as motorists faced immense difficulties as most of the transporters and owners of the Private vehicles could not ply on roads because of the closure of the CNG stations in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
All CNG filling stations in the Punjab went on a strike for an infinite period against unjustified and flawed gas distribution policy of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL).
The commuters traveling in twin cities adopted a stance that ongoing tussle between the Government and association is proving to be worse for them. They said they are forced either to use the high Price petrol or Park their vehicles until the strike ends.
On Wednesday, most of the people who travel through public transport could not reach their offices in time, as transporters could not find CNG to ply their vehicles. Some transporters were plying transport, but they were charging double fares from the commuters. Drivers of the taxicabs are taking full advantage of the situation.
There was a rush at all wagon, Suzuki and bus stops because of shortage of the transport. Working men faced great difficulties on Wednesday. Many of the motorists who have their own vehicles could not come on roads because of closure of the CNG stations.
