ISLAMABAD: World’s Best Pakistani Umpire Aleem Dar, has said that the reason he never used his right hand for giving decision, despite being a right handed, is because he does not want to use his “Shahadat finger” to give decision as decisions can be wrong anytime.

Talking to a local television channel Dar said “we all know the importance of Shahadat finger in religion Islam so keeping that in my mind I never used my right and always used my left hand for decisions as I can be wrong anytime”.

Shahdat finger is the first finger of the right hand which every Muslim use while offering prayers.

Keeping the importance of this finger in the mind, the ICC best umpire Aleem Dar, always uses his left hand for giving decision.

Dar, who has won ICC Umpire of the Year award two years running, was also immaculate throughout the World Cup 2011 as none of his decisions were proved wrong by the Decision Review System (DRS).

A total of 57 reviews were taken against Dar in the World Cup and amazingly none of his decisions were proved wrong by the technology.

Dar was accorded a warm welcome upon his return to Pakistan from India and was received by a large gathering of supporters and several Pakistan Cricket Board officials.
