Raymond release hurts national sentiments: Rana Sana Ullah

LAHORE: Punjab law minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan has said release of US citizen Raymond Davis has taken place as per law adding his release has however hurt sentiments of nation.

Punjab law minister said this while talking to media men here Friday outside Punjab Assembly.

He reiterated Punjab government had no relevance with the release of Raymond Davis. The legal heirs of the victims had taken diyat by exercising their right in consonance with Islamic law. What could government or court could do, he remarked.

The legal heirs of deceased Faizan and Fahim should have demanded for release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui besides diyat.

He said US should set free Dr Aafia Siddiqui adding government of Pakistan and Pakistani nation was ready to pay the money in return for her release.

Following the release of Raymond Davis, non Muslim countries would have come to know about Shariah and Islamic laws that how much Islamic laws were vital for the betterment and welfare of humanity, he said.
