ISLAMABAD: A US Embassy employee in the car hit a motorbike to a government servant when he was going with his family in the vicinity of Blue Area of the Federal Capital Islamabad.
The police took the American to Kohsar Police Station, but later he was shifted to some other place.
At about 7:00 pm in the evening, a US citizen named Carlos was driving in the Grey coloured Honda car bearing registration number MK 743, which was registered from Islamabad Capital Territory. When he reached near Kalsoom Plaza Blue Area, all of a sudden a motor bike appeared on the U-Turn of the road.
The US citizen hit the motorbike on which an employee of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Maqbool Hussain, his wife and two minor children were riding. Due to accident Maqbool got minor injuries but his family members remained quite safe.
The motorcycle had an official number plate. The eye witnesses said that Maqbool wanted to take U turn after getting the petrol in his bike form the petrol pump located on the other side of the road when US citizen from coming from the other side hit him.
According to eye witnesses the US citizen fully cooperated the police and stayed there for a long time instead of trying to flee from the scene however he continued used his cellular phone during that time.
The police took Carlos to Kohsar Police Station, where gates were shut for the media persons and no one was allowed to go inside the police station. However some eye witnesses after watching the video clip of Carlos from the cameras of media persons confirmed that they saw that some civil dressed Pakistani persons were taking him from the police station by foot.
When contacted SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam, one of his personnel staffers told this scribe that SSP was busy in a meeting.
The victim Maqbool Hussain sustained minor injuries and he is out of dangers, doctors in polyclinic hospital said.
When asked Maqbool told Online that accidents mean accidents and they happen usually on roads. “So the sudden and unintentional incident happened, what else I should say,” he said.
When contacted for his official version Spokesman of US Embassy Alberto Rodriguez confirmed that Carlos who met the accident is an employee of the embassy. He said, “We are busy in contacts with the Pakistani officials to resolve the issue. Over the incident he expressed sadness saying that the tragedy is sorrowful.
