RAWALPINDI: Deputy secretary general, Wafaq-al-Madaris, Pakistan, Maulana Qazi Abdul Rasheed has strongly condemned the murder of federal minister for minorities, Shabaz Bhatti; stressing that no militant outfit was behind it.

Citing the assurance of PM of not ending article 295-C, which had ended all controversies and disputes between Muslims and Christians, He said that there were strong possibilities of involvement of external hands in the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti, in an endeavor to create chaos and civil violence in Federation, using the resolved issue of Blasphemy Law.

He said that there was a change of strategy, as compared to earlier targeting of sectarian leadership, reverting to minorities in a bid to destabilize and defame Pakistan’s minority record on global platform.

He also strongly ruled out any approval of allowing anyone to take law in one’s own hand, and strongly ruled out involvement of any militant or religious outfit in committing such gory act.

He berated failure of government apparatus to take any solid and credible steps to apprehend and destroy terrorists’ network, stressing that it was government’s responsibility to look after the rights of minorities.
