CDA launches spring tree plantation campaign

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched Spring Tree Plantation Drive during which 500,000 saplings would be planted.

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Imtiaz Inayat Elahi inaugurated the campaign.

In this regard, CDA arranged a walk from Pak-Saudi tower to Faisal Avenue and students of different schools and colleges participated in the walk.

Chairman CDA said on the occasion that CDA would make the city more beautiful by planting more and more saplings. He said that CDA has corporation of all official and non-official institutes regarding the new plantation in the city. He mentioned, unfortunately Pakistan is included in those countries where rate of forestation is very low. He said that due to chopping of trees world wide, world is facing climatical changes and natural disasters. CDA has imposed the ban over tree chopping and CDA has proper plan in this regard, he added.

Later, students planted ten thousands saplings on green belt in front of Pakistan Institute of Medical and Sciences (PIMS).
