ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Rehman Malik Monday once again reiterated the US gunman Raymond Davis possessed a diplomatic passport, and government would implement the court’s verdict regarding Davis case.
He expressed these views while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House. He said the Prime Minister’s statement on floor of the House verified the government’s stance that it would never compromise on country’s integrity and sovereignty against any external pressure over the issue.
He refuted the notion that interior ministry was trying to change the record of Raymond Davis, which was safe and sound with secretary interior.
Replying to a question, the interior minister said that the passport of Raymond Davis was with Punjab police, who should have acted with responsibility by informing interior ministry about it.
Replying to another question, the interior minister cautioned all Pakistani artists traveling to India to maintain the honor and integrity of Pakistan, announcing that in future, all artists traveling to India would require an NOC from interior ministry.
He said the Indian government had fined singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Indian Rupees, 200 million, but reduced it to Rs 1.5 million on Pakistani government’s request.
