In comparison, 1,755 human traffickers were arrested in 2009 and 1,642 in 2008.

The agency also initiated a legal action on recruiting agents against whom complaints were received through the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment after scrutiny, reported Xinhua.

Anti-Trafficking Units at Provincial Police Head Quarters have been established to combat internal human trafficking besides the establishment of an inter-agency task force.

A total of 3,434 illegal migrants were intercepted in 2010, while 5,601 in 2009 and 10,703 in 2008.

Every year thousands of Pakistanis are trapped by the human traffickers who lure them to wrong ways to go abroad for “bright future.” Dozens of such people have been either arrested or killed by the border security forces of the countries where they tried to enter.
