SRINAGAR: The occupied Kashmir Valley received a fresh spell of snowfall
forcing closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway while the authorities issued a medium danger avalanche warning in many parts of the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, fresh overnight snowfall around Jawahar tunnel and landslides at Digdole and Panthal have resulted in closure of the highway, an official of the traffic control room told media men in Srinagar.
Srinagar also witnessed a spell of moderate snowfall. Earlier, the authorities issued a medium danger avalanche warning in many parts of the territory including Islamabad, Banihal, Kishtwar, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Gulmarg, Naugam, Baramulla, Uri, Kupwara, Tangdhar, Keran, Machil, Bandipore, Gurez, Drass and Kargil.
