PEF hires NGOs for teachers training

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has hired 27 NGOs for capacity building and training of partner schoolteachers and administrators in 29 districts to augment their professional skills.
According to handout issued here on Saturday, the spokesman of the Punjab Education Foundation, stated that, the Professional has selected the NGOs Development Certification Body (PDCB) of the Punjab Education Foundation for the conduction of cluster-based trainings for low-cost private school teachers and administrators in Punjab.
Continuous Teachers’ Development Program (CTDP) training spans over a period of six days, whereas, School Leadership Development Program training is for three days. Each training day lasts for four hours.
The spokesman added that the latest concepts of teaching, classroom management, HR and child-friendly schooling will be imparted to the teachers. This training is especially beneficial for the low-cost schools who cannot afford to arrange such trainings of their own, the spokesman maintained.
The agreement signing ceremony was held at the PEF head office on Saturday.
PEF Director (CPDP) Ms. Bushra Saeed Khan signed on behalf of the PEF. The MOU will remain in effect by Dec. 31, 2011.
It may be added here that PEF Continuous Professional Development Department is responsible for the conduction of teachers training.
