PESHAWAR: President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed PPP senior leader and former speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Barrister Masood Kausar as new Governor KP province.

According to President House Spokesman the summary for appointing Barrister Mehmood Kausar as governor in place of Owais Ahmed Ghani was signed on Tuesday. The new governor also met the President at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

President congratulating the new Governor on his appointment expressed hope that he would perform his services with sincerity and designation for the welfare and prosperity of the people of his province

Sources told Online that prior to appointing Masood Kausar as the new Governor the president took into confidence its ally ANP President Asfand Yar Wali and FATA Parliamentary leader Munir Khan Orakzai and other influential persons

Barrister Kausar is an old party activist and is brother of later poet Ahmed Faraz.

PPP wanted to replace KP governor Owais Ahmed Ghani who was also feeling uncomfortable in the present setup, sources told
