Karachi road mishap claims 32 lives

Rescue workers in a bus which collided with oil tanker on Superhighway near Nooriabad, about 70 km from Hyderabad.

KARACHI: Thirty-two passengers have been killed and nine other sustained injuries when passengers couch collided with oil tanker on Supper Highway near Nooriabad area.

According to details, the accident took place at midnight of Saturday-Sunday on Supper Highway near Nooriabad area.

According to police, thirty-two people lost their lives while nine others injured in the road mishap. Twenty-eight dead bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad while four others shifted to Jamshuro. The dead bodies are in very bad condition and it is very difficult to identify them and only four children bodies have so been identified.

The dead bodies were shifted to Karachi for identification. The passengers’ couch has completely destroyed in the accident.

According to DPO Jamshuro Dr. Farooq, the accident took place at 2.14 am when the couch was heading towards Sukkur from Karachi collided with oil tanker between Hyderabad-Karachi highway near Nooriaabad. There were fifty passengers in the vehicle during the accident.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened due to nap of driver.
