7.4 magnitude earthquake jolts Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A 7.4 magnitude of earthquake jolts Pakistani cities. Report of casualties and damage not yet received.

It said the quake, initially reported as a magnitude 7.4, was very shallow at a depth of 6.3 miles (10 km). It struck 34 miles (55 km) west of Dalbandin at 1:23 a.m. local time on Wednesday (2023 GMT on Tuesday).

It is pertinent to mention here that the the magnitude of the earthquake that destroyed some parts of Kashmir in 2005, was 7.6.

A major quake of 7.4 magnitude is also capable of causing widespread and heavy damage.
