Reporter Wali Khan’s murder widely condemn

Wali Khan Baber was born in 5 April 1982.He leaves behind a widow mother, three sisters and four brothers to morn his death.

ISLAMABAD: The murder of a young reporter Wali Khan Baber widely condemn by journalist community, politicians and people from all walk of life.

Journalist community of Pakistan has announced to observe Friday as a black day. Protest demonstration will be held all over the country outside the press club offices.

Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani, PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif, CMs and Governors of all provinces, Presidents of National Press Clubs others politicians and journalist community condemn the act and called this a brutal and cowardly act.

Wali Khan, reporter of Geo News was murdered on Thursday when he was going back to his home from his office.

It is pertinent to mention that in the year 2010 as many as 21 media related employees were killed in Pakistan in various incidents including target killing, bomb blasts and suicide attacks while in the last 13 days of the first month of the year 2011 two media persons has so far been killed.

Despite killing of media persons none of the killers has so far been brought to justice which itself speaks volumes about violence and lawlessness in which media persons are forced to perform their professional assignments without any security, reinsurance, and training.

Moreover the International journalist organizations have already declared Pakistan as one of the most dangerous countries in which media persons are unsafe and are performing their duties in utmost uncertainty.
