Shahzain’s bail plea rejected

QUETTA: The bail application of Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and his associates, has been turned down, according to a ruling announced by a local court here on Saturday.
Shahzain’s counsel said, “We would approach Balochistan High Court after the bail plea has been rejected. Keeping in view the legal aspects, we were quite sure that court will grant the bail.’
This is nothing new for Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and the family of Nawab Akbar Bugti, Shahzain’s counsel said stressing, ‘We will continue legal battle’, reported a private TV channel
It should be mentioned here that District and Sessions Court Judge Dawood Nasar on Thursday reserved judgment on Bugti’s bail application, along with those of 26 of his guards, after hearing arguments of the defense lawyer here.
The bail application was filed by Shahzain Bugti’s lawyer, W. Nath Kohli.
Also, the provincial government had earlier filed an application in Balochistan High Court against shifting the case from an anti-terrorism court to a civil court.
It is important to note here that security forces arrested Mr. Bugti along with 26 of his security guards and recovered a huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition when the JWP leader was coming to Quetta from the border town of Chaman a couple of weeks ago.
