Malik Mumtaz Hero or Zero; debate starts in society

ISLAMABAD: A hot debate among the fans of Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri and the lovers of Salman Taseer have been started on the wall of the Facebook fan page of Qadri where some call him a “hero” while others say he is a “murderer” and “zero”.

Malik Mumtaz Hussain, the murderer of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, and the man of elite force surprisingly become a liked personality among Pakistani Facebook users, and his fan page has received more than 2000 likes in just few hours and the likes are growing continuously.

Within hours of the assassination of Salman Taseer someone on facebook, created a fan page of assassin Malik Mumtaz Hussain, saying “We Support the action of Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri and want that Supreme Court of Pakistan take immediate action against his arrest and order to free him”.

The page is widely liked by Pakistani facebook users and majority of them on the wall are saying that Malik did the right thing by assassinating the blasphemer.

One user Muhammad Jawad Rafiq said that he took a brave step by killing a blasphemer.

Another user of facebook Tayyab Khan said that Malik was no one to decide by himself. “This Qadri by Islamic law committed a murder. He is no one to decide that who is Gustakh-e-Rasool and who is not” he added.

Malik Mumtaz, an ordinary policeman becomes talk of the town when he shot dead Governor Punjab Salman Taseer on Tuesday. Right after that he surrendered before the police immediately by saying that he had assassinated the Governor due to his blasphemous statements against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
